Scimitar Project

The inside is all done, and I got the motor back from the machine shop ... Finally,  I'll get started on it tomorrow,  ain't it Purdy !

It's been a while since I built a motor with all new parts,  this one is a 2000 350 Chevy vortec, four bolt main block,  bored .060 over and micro-honed, forged pistons,  good rods, the heads are 64cc vortec heads milled .010, stainless steel 1.94 valves, teflon seals,  the identical cam as I had in the other one, but I'll be running the 600 cfm Edlebrock performer carb this time on the alumimum performer dual plane intake manifold, and the same ThunderBolt ignition.

The hull mod is done,  I raised the drive 2 1/2 inches, and moved the transom back 5 inches and changed the angle of the transom from 12 degre's to 8.  I'm suposed to get the new drive back this week ... we'll see,  he's said that for two other weeks, it's a Gen II also but a 1.47 ratio.

Hp ... ?  who knows,  the motor was 340hp stock with an 8 to 1 compression ratio and fuel injected, I've raised the compression to 10 to 1 at least with the flat pistons and the bore, maybe 10.5 to 1, the cam added 135hp to a stock 350 Chevy carborated engine on a dyno.  The guy's at the machine shop said if it's set up to spec's the motor should produce 400 to 425 hp easily @ 5000 rpm.
