One More Run ...

Well ... maybe,  but it was a pretty calm evening and I wanted to take the Scimitar out again before I pull the motor this week-end, probably anyway.

I'm anxious to get the heads off it and check them out now,  yesterday I was testing a performance prop for Dr Dwayne and when I throttled up my 32oz Coke I had turned up-side down and I pulled the throttle off just before the boat went on plane,  the water rushed up to the stern and entered the exhaust and locked up the motor.  I had just replaced one of the "flappers" with an after market type that is a Lot more flimsy than the other one's I have and the water raised it up rather than closed on the exhaust.  I kept bumping the starter until the motor turned through, but when it fired it locked up again.  I did finely get it to start and it belched a lot of steam out the right exhause pipe and ran rough for about half a minute then it cleared up and seems to be running fine, but I'm gonna have a look at those valves and may replace them.  I am sure glad I installed the stainless steel valves when I built the motor.

Here's a couple video's ... hard to believe the water was just almost calm, lookin at the camara.
