Scimitar For Sale

It's Official

My scimitar  "Reds Gold"  is coming up for sale soon,  I have brought another one home I like better, an original 1980 model emerald mist.

I'm giving notice here on the forums first, to give you Glastron / Carlson fans first privilege to think about it.  Many of you have ridden in my boat, and know that it has recently been completely re-built, transom, floor, stringers, injected with foam, recent carpet and interior, "t" tops, winglets, a brand new, molded, 3/8 thick acrylic windshield, auxiliary gas tank, 52 gallon total capacity, and a fresh new metal flake gel coat, Lowrance 527 mapping sonar w/gps.   The boat looks great, inside and out.

I sold the motor that was in the boat to another member, and have recently built a 387cid “stroker” for it, out of a 1998 5.7 vortec, over 400hp, 500 pounds torque, aluminum ProComp heads, stainless steel 2.05 Manley valves, 190 raised runners, full roller aluminum rocker arms, custom ground roller cam, double roller timing set, Edlebrock rpm "air gap" intake, Edlebrock Thunder 650cfm carb,  Thunderbolt Ignition, EMI Thunder 4" polished aluminum exhaust manifolds, 4" stainless thru hulls w/diverters, the engine block was professionally clearanced and decked, drilled and pinned for the early model timing cover, bored .060 over, high flow aluminum water pump,  Eagle rods, Speed Pro pistons, 10.5 to 1 compression ratio, teflon skirts, light weight flywheel and harmonic balancer, computer balanced rotating assy,  7qt oil capacity.  ( this motor with the aluminum exhaust manifolds, and other parts, weighs about 200 pounds less than a stock 260hp Mercruiser motor ) It is coupled with a custom built 1996 1.47 ratio Alpha One Gen II Mercruiser drive with 245 hours on it. custom lab cut PowerTech stainless steel 3 blade 14/1/4 X 23 + pitch.  The motor is in the boat, lined up and almost ready for a lake test.  With the new motor, the projected speeds in the mid 70's on 91 octane pump gas.

I have two other motors I could install in the boat to complete a sale.  I have a strong running, period correct, 1981 260hp Mercruiser, manifolds, "y" pipe and pre-alpha series drive. I also have a 1998 5.7 vortec I could build for it, including the Gen II drive assy. I could install either motor for someone that is not interested in high performance.

Price is Very negotiable, depending on the motor that I put in the boat for a sale, I have invested almost $5000 in parts and machine work in the 387cid “stroker” motor, it's all new, and has been test run.  Installing one of the other motors for a sale, the price would be much less.

The boat must bring $12,900 with the period correct 1981 260hp motor, a good set of rear riser manifolds, exhaust choice, the pre-alpha drive, and 4 blade stainless steel prop, lake ready,   $15,900 with the fresh 5.7 vortec, a new set of GLM center rise exhaust manifolds and the Gen II drive and prop, or $19,500 with the new stroker, all the bling, Thunderbolt ignition, Gen II drive, prop. lake ready.

This is the first listing of this boat coming up for sale, if, and when I list it on Ebay, Craigslist, or elsewhere, the boat will be completed and the price will not so flexable.
