RE: UK Scimitar

Hey Okie, as far as completion date, not soon enough!!!  It's gonna be a lot of work, but I'm hoping to have the stringers and transome done this year.  Then we'll just have to see after that.  I do have another boat, a 21' Caravelle, was hoping to go to the lake this weekend but not gonna happen.

Also have plans to run down to OKC and see Red and check out you're all's scimitar, just been raining so much having a hard time getting my summer crops planted, but gonna go sometime.

RE: UK Scimitar

Hello Kirby! My brother told me about your scimitar and I finally got around to registering. Nice to have another scimitar owner so close! I used to go to Kaw a bit, used to have a 97 scarab several years ago but have not been in last 4 yrs since scimitar been sitting. So anxious to get back hopefully next year. Do you have a estimated completion date for yours? Would like to meet up and if can help in anyway would be glad to. I live across the street from Ponca Lake and am looking for a old Addictor mini boat to run in the mean time. I sold an old yellow 10' Funjet mini boat to someone in your area I believe. Do you have any other boats? Thanks and looking forward to meeting up.

RE: UK Scimitar

Hello UK Scimitar from another newbie. OleRed is a wealth of knowledge on these boats and can tell you about anything you need to know. I know he is super busy right now getting couple boats done and working on mine. My brother(silverscimitar) and I own the scimitar hes working on now. We are also going to need some parts such as T-top windows, Lettering and maybe few other little items. Would like to have some original winglets but don't mind the ones on ours currently (see pics) from previous owner. T-tops maybe best to have made over there. I do know they still sell the lighted cigarette lighters. I would be glad to help fellow scimitar owner in shipping parts or keeping my eyes peeled for parts needed. But like I say OleRed may have some himself or know where. He's very nice and very helpful. Got any pics of boat? Color? Still love to see even if just shell.

P.S.

Have you ever seen or know about the Guapner Scimitar Speed? I am looking for one BAD. They were made in Germany I believe. I know your not exactly close to Germany but more your neck of the woods.

Thanks

UK Scimitar

Hi everyone in the states, my name is Ricky and over the last 4 years ive been watching this forum and websites in relation to the Glastron Carlson Scimitar. I brought a boat 4 years ago, love the shape of it straight away when I saw it, unfortunately the boat I purchased is in very poor shape and I hope to be restoring it soon. The boat is just a shell, nothing is in the boat apart from a screen and I think the original petrol tank which I think you guy's call the Gas tank! The back end of the boat has been chopped away by some UK idiot to make room for an outboard, the chopped out parts was kept so I can fiberglass those back in. I'm in need of everything, the T-bar windows and side winglets, any badging etc and hope they can be shipped to the UK, most of all I need any advice you can give me, I am not a boat person but am building up my knowledge, I am also not rich so no offers of a supercharged V8 please, but any other help would be appreciated. All the best!
