Hey Red, thanks for the reply.  I have never seen an SEI before.  No this is not a doner boat, just a project I got a  year or two ago, gonna try to get it fixed up and sell so I have some cash, to throw at my scimitar.

For anybody looking for a boat it's a 2000 Ebbtide 188 Champion, has 4.3Merc.  and evidently a SEI out drive :)   It's for sale!!

That's an SEI drive, an identical replacement for the Mercruiser, good stuff

The gear ratio is the big deal, for your boat, you need a 1.50 ratio, if this is a doner boat you are looking at, you must know what motor is in front of the drive, if it's a V-8 then it is most likely a 1.50 ratio

If it's a 4.3 motor, or smaller it has a low ratio, not all that good, you can run a 1.84 ratio or a 1.65 with no problem

by using a larger prop. but the speed index will be comprimized.

I know it is not a scimitar, it's not even a glastron, but I need to know what out drive this is.  The Boat is a 2000 18' Ebbtide, I know it is a Merc. but that is about all I know.image.jpg
