RE: What's everyone up to?

Hello Guy's,

Good to see you posting on the forum about the progress of those Scimitar's! I wish I had one and then I could be one of the few who had one.. But sadly enough every chance I had to get one was when it was at a bad time of year for me. So on that note I am restoring a CVX-20 Sprint that I got from Red a year or so ago, I am sure going to miss his talent but I plan on keeping in touch with him. This summer I am going to be running around in a mint Swinger V-177 that I got out of Texas. Be sure to post some pictures guy's as we would love to see your progress.

Thanks

Boater Mike

RE: What's everyone up to?

Kirby...am gettin' along with the Scimitar started last fall.   Boat separated, gutted, new stringers, floorboards, transom ....boat now back together.   New motor installed (Merc Crate Engine), Corsa Diverter Unit in, new interior.... bucket seats, back bench, side pieces, and engine hatches almost ready to go back in.   Boat exterior touched up (several gouges, more major scratches, etc and buffed out). New Teak made over winter and oiled.   Embroidered "Scimitar" on back bench...stole idea from Pelican Bill's pictures (thanks Bill)!!   Trailer was refinished totally by previous owner.  Could not have started this without Red's help as well as several of you guys along the way.    BIG THANKS To Red and all of you who have helped!!!!  Hope to make Memorial Weekend???

Best Regards,

Rob Bork

Robert how's the boat coming?  stringers in?  Do you have it put back together yet, she gonna see water this summer?

What about you Silver, got her ready for Memorial weekend?  If  you are gonna be on the water, may have to catch a ride...

As for me, still plugging away, slowly.  Got stringers in,and glassed in.  Working on putting some chopped strand on the bottom of hull, for reinforcement, and to make a flat place for the belly tank to sit.  Getting ready to do transome Mod.  I doubt she will see water this year, unless some sort of miracle happens, but I am still glad just to be a Scimitar owner!!  As rare as these boats are still can't believe I have one.

I will say,This has been a learning experience of a life time!!!  Kudos to Red, I had no idea how much work this was gonna be.  He has been a world of help and information, but it ain't over yet sir! biggrin
