RE: Labor Day Weekend?

Wow Robert,

That is hard work paying off for sure! I have always like those boats and I have been blessed to be able to ride in a few that Ole Red has put together, you are right about the looks you get also as they sparkle in the water their eyes get bigger... I hope the CVX-20 looks that good when I get it finished.

Labor Day Weekend?

Ok...finally tried to get some pictures in here.  Not sure however think some of them are upside down/sideways or whatever.  :)    If the video takes it is a video I took when I had an engine problem due to the need for a seawater pump.  Note attachment/link above the pictures for video.  You can hear the engine Guardian system bringing the engine up and down due to the lack of the pump.  We since fixed that and it runs pretty good right now. Nevertheless it shows the new Mercruiser Engine fairly well and the Corsa Diverters I put in to keep peace on our lake.  :)    Also you can see some older pictures of the stringers and transom being refinished and also a great pic of the rotten bow flooring that supported the gas tank and other.  It was "gone" and basically fell apart once out.  There is one picture of the Scimitar and my CV23 (in the water on our lake) which was refinished about 1 1/2 years ago.  You will see one pic of a stringer which was "refinished" by a previous owner.....They did not remove the old stringer...just bolted on new stringers on the outside of the old one.

I have a thousand pics of the rebuild however not many once it was finished a few months back...need to get more of the interior as it was totally refinished and looks good.  New teak as well.  Lots of fun during this process and thanks to all of you as most helped out with good advice, pictures and just great help along the way!!   Hope the pictures load up on the post!

RE: Labor Day Weekend?

Red and All,

As we finally finished my Scimitar I have been boating on our lake which is Dickerson Lake located in Stanton, Michigan.  It's a very small lake ...about 225 acres only and hard to "stretch the legs" of this boat.  Several weekends ago we took "her" to the Muskegon River in Michigan near the Hardy Dam  to try to get some hours on the engine.  Got to run her pretty good and could not believe the looks and people coming over to see the boat.  Was a great day of boating.   Over Labor Day weekend we will be at our cottage once again on Dickerson Lake.   Red...thanks for all of your help along the way on the rebuild!

Rob
