All,
I've machined the T-Top hinges and have produced a drawing and an .stl file.
All I need before I release the drawing and the "printable" or "machinable" file is to have have someone measure
the locations of the 2 T-Top mounting holes and verify the original threads size.
To date I have not seen an original hinge. Things would have been easier if I had one.
Believe it or not I prototyped the hinges by printing the hinges using ASA plastic on a 3D printer ... They might just work in the plastic form.
I love to see how the network comes together to help out each other. This is what it is truly about keeping these forums going. I have always love the Scimitar and who could not, but I have had plenty of chances to enjoy them as my friend Ole Red let me partake in many of his test runs as well as going down the Arkansas River system. Although down here in the southern states it's a little to warm to enjoy but I am sure those up north have all the fun.
On that note keep on keeping on and please spread the wealth of information.
Hello Stan, i couldn`t find any hardware for the roof-panel and produced it myself. The lucide panel is available at "eaton plastic". Be prepared to modify it to Your individual boat. I have 2 spare, nickel plated, hinges and the mold. It did cost me 400,-EUR for 4 pieces, I guess You can replicate it in Canada at an foundry for this or an even better price. Read all the postings, You will find a lot of adresses and information. Ole Red is the ultimative institution, if You`re desperate
Hi; This is my first post. I just purchased a 81 scimitar and the port side roof panel is missing. Could someone provide to me the contact information for me to source the parts or for an assembled panel. Thank you so much. live in Nova Scotia Canada and I can not find anything here. Stan
A toggle clamp is available at DE.STA.CO, Model: 205-SSS It is a stainless steel version, flanged base - both sides; it has to be modified for a right or left side base. Arround 25$ /each. You`ll find them for less money in the www.
the one up front in the picture is the new one, the other is the original clamp.
I found an art foundry which is willing to reproduce the hinges. They can do it in bronze, alu die casting or brass. They charge 110$ for the mould and arround 60$ per piece. Have to drill the holes myself.
In addition to this there could be a nickel plating, by another company. Have to check the costs for this today...
If somebody wants to have some of them, contact me.
