Hi Auke, The dash is a one piece deal ok, and it's riveted to the other panels with big rivits. If ya want to remove it, you can drill through the old rivits, pop them out and replace them with the same size, those are the biggest pop rivits I've ever seen, they are available at a fastener supply store. It is necessary to remove it if ya want to get up in there unless you're Real Small. I used my 12 year old neighbor, I gave him my digital camara and he took pictures of everything I told him to, then I put the pic's on the computer and swelled them up and looked things over that way. I showed him what to tighten up, and how to repair a hole in the hull, I mixed up the resin, cut the cloth, and give him some rubber gloves and he done the repair also, and a pretty good job I might add.
The stringer in the middle of my boat had some rot in it too. I just cut out the rotten part, bolted a 1/2 " plywood on each side of the old stringer and filled the void with fiberglass mat and resin, and it's Really hard as a rock.
Tommy in Tampa seperated the hull his Scimitar, he'd be the one to give you some tip's on the full stringer replacement. He's on the fiberglassics board mostly.
I have been so busy with my Scimitar that I have not asked about the T Top hinges yet, I'll do my best to get that accomplished tomorrow and get back to ya then.
I'm puzzled and hopefully you guys can shed some light for me. This weekend I was working a bit on the Scimitar and started to look how to access the front bow.
I need to do that in order to replace the whole floor and stringers. It also gives me a chance need to check the tank and it's connections.
The whole dash looks as one piece. But looking at how it's put together I fear I need to remove the side panels as well!! Do you guys have any idea about this?
