I'm not an expert, but the brochure for the Scimitar list "Mercruiser 260" as the power source. That's the only info I have about the motor/drive system. Geo.
i found the letters for the simitar, thanks again. new question. were all simitars equipted with mercruiser lowers?, or are there just a few omc? thanks.
We haven't got anything put together yet, but we have talked about Beaver Lake maybe, I've never been there, and lake of the Ozarks is doable, I'd like to have a get together before George sells his boat, I think it would be a One Of A Kind video to have several Scimitars running side be side, I'd get a kick out of it for sure.
How about I make a broadcast email for suggestions. Then maybe we could get a date and place set. George and I both are in Okc, but I probablyhave a lot more flexibility than George, his business keeps him pretty close to home, he just recently sold his condo on Table Rock a week ago, wish we could have got together up there.

The letters George has are nice looking letters, you'd have to be looking pretty close to notice they're not original.

I bought mine last year from a place in texas. They are almost perfect matches and were just $4.00 a letter. I googled chrome lettering and that's how I found them. They are chromed plastic with adhesive back.
jbird : they are made of pot metal and if the boat has seen any salt water, chances are they're pretty pitted.Mine were so-so.I had them re-chromed to the tuine of 35.00 letter. It cost me 490.00.Maybe someone else has another idea.good luck,David
