Splash Day !
25 + mph .. Wind - lake 5ft low, but We Done It !
We only had about a 1/4 mile to run it out before we got out into the lake where it was too rough for the boat, but we done our best to stir that cove up. The exceleration is Awsome, especially from 35mph up to about 65 it holds ya back in the seat, the prop works great, but the speedo started picking up air in low seventies skipping over the waves and would fluctuate back to the 30's and 40's when we got out into the heavy chop. Actually, the best speed was 73 / 75 mph turning 4800, the chop was just too rough to trim it up much, but the boat did handle really good with this prop.
Impressing Cruise speed ... at the top of the primaries - 3000 rpm - the speed is 45 mph, that motor is using 5 to 5 1/2 gallons an hour at that setting
We took the boat by the scales on the way back from the lake, 3000 pounds with half a tank of gas on board, I figure the trailer weighs about 800 pounds, I have weighed a trailer similar to it before at the same scales.
